Special Education Mediation Services
The Consultant role in special education mediation between parents, students and the school is that of an impartial mediator, taking neither the side of the school district, the parent, the student or any other party involved in the special education situation. The Consultant acts as a facilitator to open the lines of communication regarding the process and result of a multi-factored evaluation (MFE), an individualized educational program (IEP), educational services to be provided, and any other issues surrounding the student’s right to a free and appropriate public education as required by law. The goal of the mediation is to find a mutually agreeable placement and educational service for the special education child.
Parent/Student/School Mediation Services
